Natasha A. Kelly

Natasha A. Kelly holds a PhD in communication sciences and sociology with key research interests in (post)colonialism and feminism. As a pan-African born in London and socialized in Germany, she sees herself as an ‘academic activist’ who always tries to bring theory and practice together. She has taught and lectured at numerous private and state institutions in Germany and Austria and has been involved in the Black German community for many years. In addition to her consulting work for various art institutions, she is the curator of the interactive touring exhibition EDEWA (www.edewa.info), which deals with everyday racism, sexism and colonialism (particularly the trade in colonial goods) from a postcolonial perspective,. Her dissertation ‘Afro-Culture – the space between yesterday and tomorrow’ was published in Unrast Verlag in 2016.

* The prototype of the glass cubes comes from the artistic work structure SYNTOPIAN VAGABOND, which is linked here to the transcultural approach of GLASPALÄSTE through the common structure of the glass cubes. Thus the boundary between contemporary art and other cultural areas is explored.
